Steel Hex Head Screws
Our most popular hex head screws. These have a head with six flat sides to keep wrenches and sockets from slipping and rounding off the drive. Length is measured from under the head.
- Medium-Strength Fastener— Your go-to screws for fastening most machinery and equipment. Tensile strengths from 90,000 to 120,000 psi.
- High-Strength Fastener— Commonly used in valves, pumps, motors, and other high-stress applications. Tensile strength of 125,000 to 160,000 psi.
- Extreme-Strength Fastener— Our strongest hex head screws hold up in your most demanding high-stress applications. Tensile strength of 170,000 psi and higher.
- Low-Strength Fastener— Suitable for light-duty applications, such as securing access panels. Tensile strength of 60,000 psi and lower.
- Black-Oxide Steel— Dark, matte coating for a finished look. Minimal corrosion resistance — best for dry environments.
- Zinc-Plated Steel— A common choice for areas with occasional exposure to moisture.
- Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel— An economical alternative to 18-8 stainless steel in wet and outdoor environments. Mate only with hot-dipped galvanized nuts.
- Zinc-Flake-Coated Steel— Tested to at least 720 hours of salt spray resistance. Embedded lubricant makes installation easier.
- Cadmium-Plated Steel— Reduces friction between the screw and your mounting surface to prevent sticking. Also creates a barrier against rust.
