Unthreaded Inserts
Reinforce, align, and adjust joints as you tighten a fastener. Also known as compression limiters, these inserts keep screws securely installed even if the surrounding plastic expands or shrinks when the screw is tightened.
- Zinc-Plated Steel — for Plastic— Mild corrosion resistance; smooth-walled cylinder sized to slip into a molded plastic boss.
- Zinc-Plated Steel — for Metal— Protect bolts from sideways (shear) pressure. Beveled ends make insertion into metal easier.
- Brass— Nonmagnetic, mildly corrosion resistant, and electrically conductive.
- Aluminum— Lightweight, nonmagnetic, and mildly corrosion resistant.
